Burro-bag Item No. 6 (Forget the iPod)

Portable transister radio
Everyone wants to bring their own music on their trip to another place, which iPods make so damn easy. But then you're stuck in the world you wanted to leave. Inside the burrobag, there is always a pocket transistor radio. That way the music coming through is always the music of here.

Ten bucks at the electronics store, cheaper south of the border. Gets ripped off, who cares? On the bus, in the car, stations appear and dissappear. The cumbias, the norteƱa, the chamame, the chilenas, the carnevalitos, the chacareras, the rock nacional, the spitfire language that's impossible to understand through the static.

Radio connects you to the present.
